This captivating property is situated in the picturesque Mount Vincent, it has been lovingly designed by the client and provides stunning views from every space in the house.
Upon first visit to this property we where struck by the amount of natural light the house had, the windows and doors are a real feature in the design. This being the case it was very important to make sure the window furnishing enhanced the space and not take away. The dining and living area is a key example of how we achieved this fine balance, it is a huge area with a cathedral ceiling and wooden floorboards. The area needed to have the option of filtering the light without obstructing the view, we decided Rhythm from Mokum was the perfect choice for this area.
Rhythm is a linen/ polyester blend, the linen component of this fabric is absolutely stunning with the slubbing and throughout, almost paying homage to the surrounding bushland. The polyester element helped to protect the fabric against the elements and also adds to the life of a fabric. The final touch that enabled the client to clear the doors when they desired were the leather tiebacks from Houles -” the subtle art of beauty being functional”- these tiebacks are the perfect example.
The Master can often be where you put your personal touch, something a little different to the rest of your home, you can see how our client did this with the understated elegance of the ribbon banding on the curtain. For the curtain we used Kyoto from Mokum, which is 100% linen, this was then lined with a blockout. We ran the ribbon along the top and bottom of the linen, the ribbon is a Catherine Martin design from Mokum - the client loves the final result and so do we.
