This property is situated right on the waters edge, the Master Suite boasts uninterrupted views of the Lake.
With this space it was important not to loose the view, however the direct sunlight in the room created a few issues such as cooling and furniture fading. Sheer curtains provided a beautiful solution, filtering the sun without impacting the outlook.
When choosing the fabric in an area that receives direct sunlight most of the day it is important to consider the composition. Long term any fabric that is predominantly a natural fibre such as linen or cotton will discolour and deteriorate over time in this environment. We used Cavalier by Mokum for the Sheer Curtain, with a composition of 70% polyester and 30% linen. This blend has the beautiful detail and finish of the Linen component coupled with the durability of 70% polyester, which was especially important in a wet area.
Behind the Sheer we colour matched a block out curtain that operates separately, this enabled the client to pull the blockout curtain across for more privacy in the evenings. With this project we where able to provide our client with a beautiful end result, this also dovetailed with the important key elements of functionality and longevity.
